Online Insurance Courses for CAIB

The four-part Canadian Accredited PNC Learning Broker (CAIB) program is the foundation of your career as a property and casualty insurance professional. You’ll immerse yourself in the study of Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and Brokerage Management, culminating with a national exam. On completion of all four courses, eligible candidates are awarded the internationally recognized professional CAIB designation.

This series of courses is designed to help you start your career in insurance or advance within your current brokerage by increasing your knowledge and sales opportunities. Depending on your licensing level, these courses may count towards your license requirements in your province.

IBAC offers these online courses through its member brokers associations across Canada. You can complete these courses at your own pace and work through them with the guidance of a mentor who will review your completed assignments and provide feedback. Some provincial associations also offer this program in a seminar format.

The CAIB 1 practice exam is a six-hour online, multiple-choice test that covers topics such as habitational coverages, personal liability, farming, and personal auto. It includes case studies and situational judgment questions that require you to make an informed decision based on your knowledge of the industry. The CAIB 2 and 3 exams are each online 3.5-hour tests that examine your ability to analyze the intricacies of commercial lines of insurance, including business interruption, crime, marine, and aviation insurance. The CAIB 4 final exam focuses on the specifics of brokerage operations, including office procedures, client service and management skills.
